It is pouring rain outside and I couldn’t be giddier. Our summer was a bit more miserable than we would’ve hoped. I know much of the northwest has been engulfed in smoke, but we have had a pretty serious amount in our valley.

Our regularly scheduled events: camping adventures, hiking, swimming in creeks and rivers, and lake dips were kept in check while a million acres burned in our drought-ridden state.

Don’t worry, we snuck in playtime, sometimes while we breathed in yucky air. We spent 5 days at Seeley Lake, which has, by far, the worst air quality in our state, and limited our time outdoors. Our summer of smoke was reason for this Montana mama to join this new organization.

We ‘Family Camp’ at Seeley’s Camp Paxson once a summer, I think if we’d slept in a tent as opposed to cabins, we might have had to cancel. If we’d canceled, I think our kids would’ve organized a coup. The lake was actually closed due to plane traffic, swooping in and collecting water to keep the fire lines in check, but the camp beach is right at the mouth of the river. We had the excitement of watching those firefighters hard at work, and still fulfilling our need to be with some of our favorite people on earth for five days.

More good news – our garden can still grow in spite of all of the smoke, and the neglect it endured this summer. European trips will be documented when the garden is harvested and put up.

We have some new products in our shop, some of which will come in handy this fall, through flu and cold season. And the rest, are to just keep you full of rainbow love. One of my favorites is our powerband!
