Peace & Calm – August
Hello Everyone,
So I’m sure you’re all dying to know what the August Oil of the month is. heh. I decided I’d focus on Peace & Calming this month. It is an amazing oil that also comes in the Everyday Oils starter kit.
This particular oil is great for children and adults! I use it with my children pretty regularly and I keep an extra bottle in the drawer of my bedside table for nights when I have difficulty falling to sleep. I think most people that have used this oil will tell you it is one that they definitely don’t want to run out of.
Plus it smells so good. It is citrusy and delicious smelling. It is perfect for diffusing in a room where you’d like to instill a little bit if peace and calming. I like to diffuse in my kids’ bedrooms especially at night or during quiet times.
I don’t know how to describe it better than its name does…so I’ll just list some examples of how we use it and hope that’ll do the trick. The reason I chose this oil was because it is back to school time and I’ve recently learned that this is a pretty amazing oil for children. It is more specifically great for calming hyperactive children and it is great for children with high blood pressure. It may help children to focus in an educational setting. I like to use it on my kids when they are feeling melty…or on the verge of a meltdown or maybe right in the midst of one. Sometimes even just smelling it can help to set them at ease or calm them down a bit.
I think this is the first blend that has been an oil of the month. This blend is made up of Tangerine, Orange, Ylang Ylang, Blue Tansy and Patchouli.
This oil can relieve insomnia. If placed on the inside of your big toe it can ease you back to sleep, which is precisely why I keep it in the drawer of my bedside table. I get woken up quite frequently in the night and if I can’t fall back to sleep I just put a little bit of this on my feet and I’m out! It’s great! It is a great oil to combine with Lavender as well to relieve insomnia. It is also a good oil to combine with chamomile to calm.
I use this oil for anxiety. And recommend it for anxiety as well.
It is great for stress relief.
Relieves tension.
You can swirl a drop or two in your bath (with kiddos maybe add a little bit of V-6 or olive oil to the bath too).
Helps with relaxation.
I guess my list isn’t too incredibly long but this oil is very effective. I bet you’ll love it!
Discussion Group Date August 13th 6PM at Walking Stick Toys/Nature Boy. The discussion group is open to all and for simply discussing the oils and how we use them personally. Please come and share info or listen, we’d love to see you/hear from you!
